Meet Scott Harris, the Commercial Inspector Behind Every Propertyexam Report
Propertyexam Corp was built on a simple idea: the person inspecting your building should understand it as well as the people who designed, built, and maintain it. Founder and owner Scott Harris brings more than 35 years of national and international engineering, training, construction, and inspection experience to every property he inspects.
Scott’s career began at sea. He graduated as an engineer from the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in 1982 and served as a US Coast Guard Merchant Marine Engineering Officer, where keeping complex mechanical systems running was part of everyday life. He went on to work as a consulting engineer on power plant and treatment plant startup and safety, and developed training programs for major public agencies including the Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation, DWP, MWD, and Caltrans.
Scott is also a lifelong, hands-on builder. As a licensed unlimited general contractor, he has built new buildings and completed full renovations. As a consulting engineer, he has built, renovated, and maintained power plants, water treatment plants, hospitals, schools, office buildings, medical buildings, and retail stores. He doesn’t just know how to find problems in a building. He knows how to fix them, because he has done the work with his own hands.
That background is what sets Propertyexam apart. Scott is the first board-certified Master Inspector® in the state of Oregon and has completed thousands of commercial inspections.
